Dr. Ray Beddoe

Broken Arrow’s Dr. Ray Beddoe is one of 161 volunteer dentists who donated more than $5 million in free, comprehensive and restorative dental services to low income patients through EODDS in 2015.

According to EODDS, that’s more donated care than California, Texas, New York, Pennsylvania and Florida combined for the same time frame.

“I volunteer because we absolutely do make a difference in the lives of those dentally and financially disadvantaged.”

Beddoe said his volunteering began because of his personal friend and professional colleague Dr. Steve Lusk. “He needed help in properly triaging and treating the dentally disadvantaged who really couldn’t afford to have it done,” Beddoe said.

“I have been very blessed by a viable practice which has been supported by the wonderful patients of Tulsa County,” Beddoe said of volunteering. “It’s very important in anything you do to keep perspective and not lose sight of the need to help. I thought this would be a good way to help.”

“In my opinion we need more volunteers certainly to help us, so there is an appeal for more people to help. The need is so great.”
