What is the most rewarding part of being an EODDS volunteer?
Seeing the transformation in the patient as a whole, is so rewarding. Many times, the patient is so filled with gratitude that their joy is overwhelming to all of us here at the office. We make a special connection and impact these patients that reaches beyond the dental chair that is priceless.
We are currently helping a patient with her life transformation including her oral health. She has made life changing strides and we are so thrilled to be a part of her journey. Over the past several months she has blossomed into a strong and self-confident young lady. Her demeanor as changed, and she is setting goals and looking forward to her future. She reminds us of the connection of a healthy mouth, healthy body and healthy lifestyle. Her gratitude is overflowing, and she has made an impact on our entire team.
What would you say to other dentists who are not currently volunteers?
Finding the time to focus on another individual in need is personally rewarding. Through dentistry, we can make connections with those in need and help them in ways many others cannot. Volunteering our talents to help others, directs us to a sense of purpose that is beyond our daily responsibilities.
